November 24th, 1934

I published my paper today. Ever since then the phones in the office have not stop ringing. The government is upset that i am produceing the truth. They told my manager that i could not print anymore. So I quit, and i plan to right my own paper. I want the rich to know what is really going on. To know who works hard day to day for very little pay. The wealthy and government should help these people. We should take their skills and use them instead of killing them off with brutal work.  I want to get them all medical care, and to close down all shops. A child should not be working in shops with heavy machinery. We are killing of children and women with no care. We simple replace them with someone new. We are not the America we are  trying to make ourself out to be.

Im in the hospital. I Have been treated for whatever it was i had. Now i have to inform the world. The immigrants coming to our countries are being sold false dreams. They are to be allowed to live the american dream just like us citizens. The living conditions of these immigrants should be against the law. They are brought to this country to be worked as slaves. They are not allowed the chance to get out of poverty.

Everyday someone is gone, someone is dieing. We had 3 new families move in today. One family had to sleep outside because we had no room. I sleeping in a box tonight. Is cold and raining. In the morning i will proablly be sicker than i am now. Soon i will have to go in for medical attention. The boss came in today. He killed three more workers. They did not understand what he was saying so they were not able to follow his directions.  The days go on, and my hands are starting to show bone. Eventually i mite not have any hands. I have seen over 30 people die while i have ben here. They are jut pushed to the side, and replaced.

This is getting hard for me. I do not eat most of the nights, nor during the day. I stole from a man for the first time. I don't know what came over men, maybe it was my hunger. At night i sleep with rats. They seem to have more food than me. I have been through up daily. All the sicknesses going around, i have no idea what i have. I asked if anyone has ever been to a doctor. Some say no, others say yes but all they do is send you back home. The doctors are to scared to treat us, cause they may get what we have.

We found the lady's child. Her son's body was found in the pool of boiling hot water. This is where the meat is. It was the saddest thing i ever seen. The body looked like it has been down there for weeks. You were not able to see the child's face.  But the mother knew he was his. Nothing changed after that. Everyone was forced to go back to work. A man, who i never seen before, came into the building. He was to well dress to be a worker, so i guessed that he was the boss. He came and began fussing about all the recent deaths that have been happening. On the spot he shot a little girl sleeping on the job. Nobody even moved. It was as if they were just seeing a bird fly by.

So much has happened and it has only been three days. I been to work everyday. We work 16 hours a day, with little food, and even smaller pay. New food comes in hourly, and it does not even look fresh. People are getting hurt daily. The man i worked next to today is very sick, yet he is still working in the food section. Once he finishes it goes on to the next sick person. I wanted to say something, but i need to get more information before i make any sudden moves.  Two more familes have come in recently. They have no where to sleep. They have two little girls so i gave them my spot. So now i am sleeping outside next to the trash. Its a good place because i get to the thrown away food first.

September 3rd, 1934

Today was my first day. Unfortunaley I was to tired to get up for work. When my house mates arrived hom i listened to their conversations, well the ones i understood. They spoke about the workplace. Many of them worked in the same place. I listened very closely to their stories. One man already lost two fingers on the machine He was still bleeding when he came home. I wanted to help him but, i had no supplies. All I brought with me to this place was my notebook, pen and 7 dollars. In the corner was a woman crying. I asked her what was wrong, when she replied she spoke a language i did not understand. I found out later that night that her son was missing.
